How to Get Your Server Featured

Guide on admin review criteria, what makes a listing stand out, and common rejection reasons for featured status.

Featured servers appear on the featured page and receive a visibility boost in virtual vote distribution. The “Featured” badge is visible in the admin server table and on the featured listing.

Featuring is managed by site admins. There’s no self-service toggle - admins review servers regularly and choose which ones to feature based on the criteria below.

Who Decides?

Site admins can feature or un-feature any server from the admin panel. When an admin features a server, it’s instantly visible on the /featured page.

What Admins Look For

1. High Uptime

The most important factor. A featured server should be reliable. Aim for 97% or higher 7-day uptime. Servers with frequent outages are unlikely to be featured.

You can check your uptime on your dashboard or your server’s status page. If your uptime is low, see our guide to understanding uptime for tips on improving it.

2. Active Player Base

Featured servers should have a healthy, active community. This is measured by:

  • Current online players - a consistently non-zero player count shows the server is alive.
  • Vote activity - servers with active voting campaigns indicate an engaged community. See the voting leaderboard to gauge where you stand.

3. Quality Listing

A well-presented listing makes a strong impression:

  • Banner - upload a high-quality, representative banner image. See how to promote your server for banner requirements.
  • Description - write a clear, informative description that explains what makes your server unique. Avoid empty or generic text.
  • Tags - select accurate, relevant tags so players can find you on the right gamemode pages. You can choose up to 15 tags.
  • Versions - keep your supported versions up to date so players know they can join.
  • Links - add your Discord and website links so players can connect with your community.

4. Approved and In Good Standing

Your server must be approved (not pending or rejected). If your server was rejected, address the reason given and resubmit. See the section on rejection reasons below.

5. Consistent Activity

Featured servers should show ongoing activity, not just a one-time spike. Consistent daily votes, steady player counts, and regular listing updates all signal an active, maintained server.

How to Improve Your Chances

  1. Fix uptime issues first - if your server goes down frequently, nothing else matters. Get your uptime above 97%.
  2. Run a voting campaign - ask your community to vote daily. More votes mean better visibility and signal an engaged player base.
  3. Polish your listing - upload a banner, write a compelling description, and make sure your tags and versions are accurate.
  4. Keep your server updated - stay on a current Minecraft version and keep your plugins/software updated.
  5. Be patient - admins review servers periodically. If your server meets the criteria, it may be featured in a future review cycle.
  • Featured is not permanent - admins can un-feature a server at any time if its quality drops or if they want to feature another server.
  • Featured is not guaranteed - meeting all criteria doesn’t automatically mean you’ll be featured. Admins use judgment to curate the featured page.
